MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) on various blockchain networks. By default, MetaMask is configured for the Ethereum Mainnet, but you can easily add other blockchain networks to access a wider range of dApps and tokens.

Steps to Add a Custom Network
- Open MetaMask: Launch your MetaMask extension or mobile app and log in.
- Access Network Settings: Click the network dropdown menu at the top of the MetaMask interface (it usually displays “Ethereum Mainnet”).
- Add Network: Scroll down and click the “Add Network” button.
- Enter Network Details: You will be presented with fields to input the network’s information. This includes:
- Network Name: A descriptive name for the network (e.g., “Binance Smart Chain”, “Polygon”).
- New RPC URL: The URL of the network’s RPC server. This is the endpoint that MetaMask will use to communicate with the blockchain.
- Chain ID: A unique identifier for the network.
- Currency Symbol (Optional): The native currency symbol of the network (e.g., BNB, MATIC).
- Block Explorer URL (Optional): A URL to a block explorer for the network.
- Save the Network: After entering all the details, click the “Save” button.
Finding Network Details
The required network details (RPC URL, Chain ID, etc.) can usually be found on the blockchain project’s official website or documentation.
Switching Between Networks
Once you have added a network, you can easily switch between them by clicking the network dropdown menu and selecting the desired network.
